My Philosophy
I believe that all people are capable of change. Life is challenging at times, and we all face moments when we could benefit from additional support. I can work with you to find solutions to presenting problems by helping you identify goals for change and collaborating with you based on your unique needs and circumstances. I also utilize behavioral models of therapy, specifically when working on parenting techniques means I will work with you in session to practice new skills and ask that you continue this work outside of the therapy room. My goal is to give you new strategies and tools which will help you feel empowered and supported as you work towards change.
I am direct in my approach, and utilize humor and levity in my work. I come from a systemic perspective and view each individual as part of a system of people, environments, and backgrounds, which influence the therapeutic process and presenting problems. However, I also approach clients as unique people and adapt the course of therapy to best meet their individual needs. Working together, we can determine what your goals are and how to best find solutions to your presenting concerns. All people are capable of change, and we all struggle at times in our lives, but as a team we can find tools and techniques that will help you enjoy a more fulfilling life.
“The greatest gift you ever give is your honest self.”
